Sierra College

This Rocklin location is the main campus for the California community college and offers 125 degree and certification programs. They have traditional as well as online classes with a population just under 20,000. It is ranked first in Northern California for transfers to four year colleges. The students really have a lot of great things to say about the professors here–they always get great reviews.

The Roseville center is a smaller, more personal campus than its Rocklin location. The Nursing, Justice, and Fire programs are exclusive to this site. They also offer courses that complement the CSU business program really well.

William Jessup University

This Christian Liberal Arts University with a population of about 1200 students offers daytime undergraduate programs as well as accelerated adult programs, online programs, and graduate programs. They offer a Freshman Academy–a one year academic support program for new students, as well as an Academic Enrichment Academy, Success Center, and Career Services.

Sacramento State University CSUS

Sacramento’s only four year comprehensive university offers a wide variety of programs and the student fees remain among the lowest in the country. They have 276 student organizations and about 500 intercollegiate athletes to choose from. The 300 acre lush campus has miles of walking and biking trails that stretch along the American River. Student housing is close to Folsom Lake and other recreational areas. Check out the WELL, a 150,000 square foot wellness center with state of the art recreational and workout activities that also offers a wide range of classes.

Brandman University

This private, non-profit university offers educational opportunities for working professionals. Classes are taught both in person and online–you spend three hours once a week on campus and the rest of the material is available on a web based portal. They offer Arts and Sciences, Business and Professional, Education, as well as Nursing programs. You’ll find extensive career services there, ranging from workshops, career exploration, interviewing, and job search assistance.

This career college offers different programs in the Healthcare, Business, Legal, and Technology fields. This learning environment for adults provides educational services such as GED preparation, high school completion, English as a second language, computer education as well as parent education. They also offer job training and citizenship courses. With over 2700 students, they have 12 different locations in the area to attend classes.
