The Gate Academy is located at Coyote Ridge. This is the only main center for the GATE Program in Roseville–it is open district wide to elementary students, but they will be attending GATE classes here at this campus. Creekview Ranch Elementary

Creekview Ranch has recently expanded from a middle school to a full K-8. Dry Creek Elementary has now merged into Creekview, giving them a new elementary program. They have a unique program called WEB–“Where Everybody Belongs”, aimed at helping incoming sixth graders adjust to the middle years of schooling by connecting them with WEB trained eighth grade mentors and participating in fun activities together to build connections and relationships that influence their academic success. The campus is modern looking and beautiful. They have also been integrating more technology into the classrooms, like utilizing new online math textbooks.

Quail Glen has high standards for their students and strive to help them achieve. They offer a student based conflict management group to help students succeed socially as well. Their website has a great list of study tools that students can use, like flash cards, word lists, math practice tests, and printable worksheets. A great resource to keep your student actively learning at home or over the summer. The Eureka School District has implemented some great programs, and at Excelsior you will find the Destination Imagination program that the students really enjoy. It is a team problem solving competition with creative challenges including building, design, written, and performance aspects. They can get creative, have fun, think outside the box, and make new friends. Excelsior also offers Transitional Kindergarten, GATE, Spanish Enrichment, STAR Education, and a Multi-Age Program.

Maidu Elementary

Along with Excelsior, the Enrichment Programs here at Maidu are the highlight of these campuses. The Multi-Age Program is for children who progress better at their own rate, which offers many benefits. They perform better, have better attitudes about school, learn in a cooperative environment, and can progress continually. The STAR Enrichment Program is a before and after school program packed with great extra curricular activities, like Music and Performing Arts, Sports, Culture, Family and Life Skills, Tutoring, and Homework Lab. Blue Oaks has some great extra curricular activities. They offer clubs like KidzArt, Early Engineers, Broadcasting, Clay Club, Student Council, and Chorus. Crestmont Elementary

The kids at Crestmont really enjoy the Cruisers Running Club, they can participate throughout the whole school year, tracking their mileage and earning prizes and awards. There’s even a special luncheon held for the “Marathoners” who’ve logged more than 26 miles by the end of the year. Students can also be a part of the BEAR (Be Enthusiastic About Reading) program here. The parents really appreciate the principal’s high level of involvement–he walks the campus regularly and spends a lot of time talking to the students and parents.

Diamond Creek Elementary

My son attends Diamond Creek and we have had a wonderful experience there. One of the best highlights of the school is Marty Brown, the principal. He is very active with the parents and his communication is excellent. His dedication to the students really shows, and he is very good at staying on top of any situation that comes up. You’ll see him most mornings at the front gate greeting students. The school puts on some great events thanks to high parent and teacher involvement, like the Fall Festival, Spring Fling, Field Day and more. The campus is right next to a very nice secluded park with amazing walking trails–a great way to end the school day with your kids.

Jefferson has been actively incorporating more technology into use–adding 40 new Chromebooks for students to use for research, collaborative projects, and writing papers. They are also one of three schools in the district to use Google Docs to collaborate together on writing assignments. The students can work on the same document at the same time, easily get feedback from their classmates, and publish it online for their peers and parents. It adds importance to their assignments and creates an easier transition into the type of work they will encounter in high school and college.

The Stoneridge campus is in a great neighborhood across from the ravine and right next to a beautiful park. In 2014 they just became a Project Lead the Way School, which introduces students to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math concepts. They also have the Math Olympiad program and Destination Imagination, a collaborative project-based competition that focuses on inspiring the next innovators and leaders. Some of their after school enrichment programs include Lego Robotics, Improv, Art Studio, Science Lab, Survival School, Biology, and Chemistry.

Woodbridge Fundamental Elementary

Woodbridge is the only Kindergarten through 3rd grade school in the district, which offers a unique experience for the kids in that it really focuses on the needs of younger children. The class sizes are small and the student to teacher ratio is very low. In 2005 the campus got a $3.5 million dollar renovation and modernization. They offer the ASES (After School Education and Safety) Program with extended learning and enrichment activities until 6:15pm Monday-Friday, which is great for working parents. The kids get to participate in areas like Spanish, Cooking, Karate, and Dance.

The Academic Performance Index (API) is a single number assigned to each school by the California Department of Education to measure overall school performance and improvement over time on statewide testing. The API ranges from 200 and 1000, with 800 as the state goal for all schools.
